A Divine Order For Women

A many years ago I started organizing my time around the lunar month rather than the calendar month. The lunar month begins at each new moon, and as a woman I feel it gives me a border, more connected sense of time, and deeper understanding of the cycles the earth. And with the traditional phases in a woman's life. The maiden, the unbridled energy of youth, so powerful and vibrant that it can shine the way forward, or burn us out. The crone puling us into the wisdom of darkness, quieting the mind, and stirring the soul. And the most powerful and significant phase because it represents creativity Is the mother the true heart of feminine energy it’s self. The rebirth of a long lost understanding of something that’s always been present, but has rarely been seen. What is it that she offers us? In order to know that, we must first understand nature, and the nature of the self. When this understanding is complete, when this wisdom is attained the warrior priestess is initiated into the Order of the Blue Owl, and has the power to truly live as a divine being on earth.

Something strange happens to children as they reach their true adulthood. Their family dynamics start to level out as their relationships with their parents become more sibling like in nature.
As we grow up we recognize that although they allowed us entry into the world, and have accepted the responsibility of protecting, providing for, and nurturing us; our parents are not the all knowing all seeing entities we believed them to be when we were small.
Most parents will tell you that their children are a gift. And it is true that the nature of the parent/child relationship is indeed far more reciprocal than we’re encouraged to believe in our culture. From the moment we are born we offer our parents an up to date channel into the truth of the Divine essence that we all are, and are all from. We are here to remind our parents of the miracle of their own existence, and to gain an experience of growth and expansion, that can only be ascertained by being big beings, in little bodies. We are not here to learn from our parents, but to learn with them. And we certainly are not here so they can teach us how to forget who we really are. Or what we’re really here to do.
What is Divinity? People speak of source, of god, of a universal creative force that bonds all things together, but the essence of Divinity is duality. The eternal paring of masculine and feminine, light and dark, summer and winter, day and night, fall and spring, man and wife. These are parental elements, illuminating strong and ever- present. All of us are children of nature, and the nature of existence.
Nature as with most things, has been externalized in our society something to “go out into” something to “experience”. It’s true that buildings and cities have created the illusion that we are physically separate from nature. But the moon always rises, and the sun always sets, emotionally and spiritually we always have access to the heartbeat of of plant. This simple subtle truth is reflected in our own hearts. As such these dualistic elements have more to offer us in terms of guidance, wisdom, direction, safety and comfort, than any set of human parents, or any authority that we may have anthropomorphized into our parents.

Teachers, spouses, bosses and governments, try and fail time and time again to protect us, to teach us, to guide us, and they will continue to fail because looking up to parent figures emphasizes something in the human consciousness that is incomplete, and therefore unnatural. It emphasizes hierarchy as an organizational principle.
Hierarchy allows people to have authority and position over the lives of others. Eventually hierarchical power structures are internalized, essentially giving those in power, authority and position over the self-identity of those who are not. In a top down society this principle effectively centralizes approval seeking as the primary source of personal fulfillment for those below. And everyone, is below someone.
An easy way to justify this disequilibrium is by taking on the role of someone's surrogate mother or father. Insuring the power dynamics in a way that most people understand and accept at a level that permeates deeply into the unconsciousness mind.
On the surface we have a systems that seams to be based on merit and achievement. However In such a structure you have to ask yourself, who is it that judges merit? Who is setting the standards for achievement? On closer observation one may notice that success is not based on skill or talent in many professional and educational environments. It is based on winning the approval of an artificially, and usually self-appointed parent figure. This person now has the power to motivate or manipulate at will. Approval seeking tends to ooze into a persons relationship with their character. Allowing an authority figure’s reach to extend not only to qualifying and individuals work, but their worth as well. Good work good person, bad work bad girl.
Yes this dynamic tends to negatively affect women significantly more that it does men. Studies have shown that women are far more likely to treat communities outside of the home like that of a traditional family. Giving more of their time, effort and loyalty to these endeavors than their male counterparts. Why? Because although hierarchy can be viewed through a matriarchal lens, In most cases it is driven by patriarchy, making daughters of every woman serving under it.

As Venus transits she brings with her, the passage of the divine feminine body across our meridian, and into our field of observation. Women have been noticing the unfair balances of power for a while now. The response has been rebellion. Wave after wave of feminism, we’ve said no to patriarchy, and the voice has been loud, “I am too going to that party dad!” but it has not been clear, “And I’m taking my tatted-up wanna-be rock-star boyfriend with me.” What we have seen over and over is women transferring their power from one male dominated venue (traditional family life), to another (traditional working life). As we climb up the latter, all the way to almost being president... it is clear that women are shedding layers of their femininity during assent.
As with most rebellions, revolutions rarely revolutionize. We substitute one master for another. We shift the hierarchical balance of power from someone, to someone else. We allow ourselves to inadvertently transform into the exact thing we are fighting. As intoxicating as insurrection can be, we need not rebel against, what we need is freedom from.

In an return to nature. In the resurrection of the feminine aspect of Divinity. We are all liberated.
Looking at Earth’s cycles we, see history repeating it’s self, but in a way that isn't imbued with disappointment. Fall, winter, spring, summer, and fall again. Wax on wax off The tide comes in, the tide goes out. Instead of pushing for change and receiving more of the same. We are now in a rhythm that assumes the same, and yet allows for variety within the comfort of the expected. The lesson of the larger cycles of nature is that they work with each other, not for each other. This is the basis for the return of the feminine element.
Hierarchy takes all the power and places it at the top, as such it places all of the responsibility on those at the top. Dismantling that structure would mean, no longer having someone to look up to. It would also means no longer having someone to blame.
The divine feminine restores the power and the responsibility to the individual. She brings us the fruit of knowledge. The full realization that ones behaviors and actions lie squarely on ones own shoulders. With this understanding, we can come to see that what we do and how we do it affects others. Which conversely means that others are always affecting us. Their is no way to tame it, contain it, or control it. We are all working together, whether we’re aware of it or not. We are all working together weather we like it or not. And none of us are innocent children with parents to carry the weight of our choices for us.
In our lopsided understanding of the world we have created one full of people who’s fault it’s not. The Divine Feminine teaches us that the consequences of our actions good and bad are each and every one of our own.
Hierarchy may have savaged the world we know, but Synergy will heal it. In the eyes of nature we are, and have always been peers; sibling beings living on earth as equals. The only thing we ever really hurt in denial of this is ourselves, and It is only through reclaiming this knowledge that we can ever truly come home.

There is a spiral spinning up and outward from the center. The center is golden.  The center is flow. I see antler. I see bird of light. I see priestess gathering in from the sky. Her womb is full. She is pregnant with fire. Her heart is the center of the spiral where Heaven energy unites with Earth energy. She is alchemy. She is phoenix. She reaches in through Spirit and calls up birds from ashes. Life from death. From within her everything flows up and outward and back down in whorls. Her soul has created an energy vortex of her body, spinning things into alignment. Spirit and Earth meet within her.

I love the word priestess. I feel empowered when I hear it. My body gets a little tingly with excitement, the sacred awakening inside me in a distinctly physical way. When I think priestess, I think woman in her power, in her body, in her sensuality, her sexuality. She owns the space she’s in. She shifts the energy of a room. She awakens God/Goddess wherever she goes. I think of a woman who calls forth from the ground, calls down from the sky, up from the plants, up through animals even, that which her heart desires. She is so aligned with her divinity that the universe bends to meet her. I think of a woman who knows and incorporates the power of alchemy in her daily life. She channels fire, in that she purifies with the heat of her womb, the heat of her soul-center, that with which she comes into contact. Like metal through flame, like coal and diamonds. A priestess embodies Goddess, Divine Feminine, and thus she is Creatrix. She creates the life she wants, harmonizing inner and outer realities, making magic. So much magic.
